Children’s Family Violence Counselling Program (ACORN)

About

ACORN is a free children’s counselling service for anyone in Tasmania aged 5-18 years. It is for children or young people who have experienced or witnessed family violence.

Our Program can:

  • Provide counselling services to children and young people
  • Develop a family care plan to identify needs
  • Provide case management and warm referrals to other programs and services for parents

Program Methods

  • Parent intake/assessment
  • Children and young person counselling 5- 18 years
  • Psychoeducational (parent groups) when available
  • Brief intervention model 6-12 sessions

Sessions with children are in-person only. Parent intake appointments made are held via Health Direct.
