Short Term Trauma Counselling Service

Provides short term counselling support to people that are or have experienced trauma or have a trauma related condition for up to 6 months.

Mental Health Clinicians and counsellors will work with people to reduce levels of distress due to traumatic experiences. Referrals to other services can also be provided to improve mental health outcomes. A mental health assessment will be conducted on intake and a care plan developed.

This is not a crisis service – for people in crisis, the best contacts are the Access Mental Health Helpline or Emergency Services.

This service is available to all ages and no referral is required.

This program is an Australian Government initiative funded through the Primary Health Network Tasmania.
