Migrant Work Rights Hub Tasmania
New laws under the Migration Amendment (Strengthening Employer Compliance) Act 2024 give workers stronger protections against exploitation and visa-related pressure. These reforms make it safer for anyone to speak up about wage theft, unsafe work, or discrimination – and they help stop exploitation that harms all workers.
The Migrant Work Rights Hub Tasmania is here to help migrant workers understand these changes and get support if they need it, offering multilingual resources, education workshops and a free referral to the Work Rights Clinic to talk to a specialist immigration lawyer for workers facing unfair or unsafe work related to their visa.
