Mates4Mates

Mates4Mates is one of Australia’s leading veteran charities actively changing the lives of current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members, and families, who have been impacted by service.

Through mental health and physical rehabilitation services, social connection activities and skills-based clinical programs, we provide a way forward for those experiencing physical injuries, mental health impacts and social disconnection.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Services:

Veterans and families can experience unique challenges that can impact their mental health and wellbeing. Our highly skilled team of psychologists, counsellors and social workers are here to help with challenges such as PTSD and trauma, grief, depression and anxiety, transition adjustment, addiction, and parenting and family issues.

Physical Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Services:

Targeting all aspects of health and wellbeing, our team of exercise physiologists are here to support veterans and family members through a range of services. Offered both in one-on-one appointments and in group class settings, effective treatments include physical rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, health education, and more.

Social connection activities:

Knowing the power of social connection and community, we create regular opportunities for mateship and peer-support through social, recreational, and family activities. Can’t make it in person? We also offer online social connection activities.

Skills for Recovery Programs:

Our Skills for Recovery programs are offered in person and online and are designed to provide veterans and families with opportunities to develop new skills and learn techniques to help them move forward from the impacts of service.

Whether you are a veteran, are currently serving, or are a family member of someone who has served – you can access support if you have been impacted physically or psychologically by your service. We provide a safe, supportive environment for you to seek help with no judgement or expectation.

We host a variety of social connection activities across the state.

Support looks different to everyone, which is why Mates4Mates are committed to providing services to veterans and their families to best suit their recovery journeys.

If you’re a veteran or family member who has been impacted by service, make the call that makes the difference on 1300 4 MATES (62 837) or visit mates4mates.org.
