Foster Care

If you would like to help a child in need, foster care is an excellent way to do so. There are numerous options for providing foster care, tailored to suit your lifestyle and needs.

Baptcare is here to support you from your very first call or email. We offer training, answer your questions, and provide ongoing support 24/7. Even if you do not feel ready to become a carer, we are here to discuss what is involved.

Who this service is for

Foster carers come from all walks of life. There is no such thing as a typical foster care household. If you can provide a safe and nurturing environment for a child in need, we would love to talk to you.

Foster carers must be over 21 years of age, have adequate space in their home, have no criminal record, and pass a police check as well as a relevant working with vulnerable persons/children check.

Community Kinship – Baptcare

Kinship care places children with family or community members when they can’t stay with parents. The Community Kinship program supports informal caregivers of young people aged 0-17. Practitioners help establish placements, provide referrals, and offer support. Contact Child Safety Services for more information.

Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS)

Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS) offers intensive therapeutic support for vulnerable young people aged 10 to 18, disengaged from services and the community. TYSS addresses significant risk issues, including homelessness, and aims to prevent escalation within Child Safety or Youth Justice systems. In partnership with Baptcare and government departments, we ensure children’s safety and welfare.
