Community Garden Maintenance
Community Garden Maintenance is run by Chris Hills, who volunteers his time at no cost to vulnerable people in our community. Chris has formed some wonderful relationships with charities and not for profit organisations.
This program is to assist people in Southern Tasmania who are finding it difficult to maintain their gardens to standard, and Chris is wanting to help people who have mental health challenges, severe mobility issues or are suffering from an illness.
Free quality gardening service for vulnerable people.
- Cleanup of overgrown gardens
- Mowing and brushcutting/whipper snipping
- Clear pathways and entrances to house
- Fully insured
Who this service is for
This service has been tailor made for vulnerable people in our community.
Ideally a charity or not for profit organisation identifies a client who needs help in the garden, and they engage Community Garden Maintenance to complete the necessary work.
Completed in a kind, safe, and non judgmental way.
Cost
Chris from Community Garden Maintenance has created a unique program and wants it to be something special for people in our community, so there will be no cost to the client, charity or not for profit organisation.
While the service is free of charge, Community Garden Maintenance does ask for tip fees to be covered which is no more than $18 for garden waste.
Opening Hours
At this stage, Community Garden Maintenance operates only on a Tuesday from 9am – 4pm.

This program is aimed at people who suffer from mental health challenges, severe mobility issues or an illness.
