Elder Relationship Services are a combination of Mediation or Counselling to help older people and their families to;
- Prevent or resolve family conflicts
- Have difficult conversations - in a safe & supported environment
- Make decisions (such as Medical, financial and living arrangements)
- Plan for the future
- Resolve differences in ways that improve relationships

People can attend on their own, with their partner, or with a support person.

Attending the Elder Relationship Service is voluntary and confidential, within the limits of the law. Everyone gets the opportunity to express his or her view with the support of an independent practitioner. The Elder Relationship Service is staffed by trained mediators and counsellors and with specific skills in delivering services to people experiencing conflict about ageing-related issues.

The decisions made at an Elder Relationship Service sessions are not legally binding. However, the practitioner can assist to document your agreements in writing.

No referral is required, and waiting times for an appointment can vary according to the current level of demand and your availability.
