Connecting with Rhythm
Baptcare Horizons will be facilitating a rhythmic music group starting in November.
This group program will run for six sessions and will have a focus on social + emotional wellbeing and connection.
These sessions will be facilitated by a Rhythm to Recovery trained Mental Health Practitioner (Els-Mari) and supported by our Lived Experience Peer Practitioner (Amy).
**Why Connecting with Rhythm?**
Throughout history the use of rhythm to support mental, social and emotional wellbeing and connection has been used across the world; Our Lead Facilitator is trained in the evidenced based Rhythm to Recovery Model and will bring that evidence base to these sessions.
Our Lived Experience Peer Practitioner will be engaging in the rhythm sessions and supporting participants from a peer perspective.
These sessions are designed to meet the needs of people within our local community who expeirence severe periods of mental ill-health.
We’re creating these sessions to provide a variety of ways to connect with others, in a no-pressure safe environment. As well as connecting through rhythm, we’ll also have time for a cuppa and chat.
